The Aprilia SR 50 has been a supersport scooter for more than 20 years, a tradition that continues today courtesy of a completely revamped range, built around a modern and technological 50cc two-stroke engine. On one side, the Aprilia SR 50 R, the uncompromising sports scooter driven by the one-cylinder Hi-Per2 Pro liquid cooled engine and on the other, the Aprilia SR 50 Motard, designed for younger riders with its “fun” soul, and equipped with the same air cooled unit. When Aprilia launched the SR 50, it was an epochal moment in the history of the 50 cc scooter. the SR 50 was in fact the world’s first supersports scooter. Thanks to a continuous succession of technological upgrades, the SR 50 has always been one of the unquestioned benchmarks for its class. The Aprilia SR 50 boasts an important string of firsts: it was the first sports scooter, the first Racing Replica, then liquid cooled and still with two disc brakes, the first 50 cc with electronic injection and now equipped with a brilliant Euro 4 single-cylinder engine.

The tapered shield, the dual headlamp, the central air intake, the aerodynamic tail fairing with a rear headlight and built-in indicator lights, all emphasise its affinity to the Aprilia sports bike family. Engine: Cutting-edge technology
The brilliant 50-cc two-stroke Hi-Per2 Pro single-cylinder liquid cooled engine remains at the top of the category for drive and acceleration and also gains Euro 4 certification thanks to its electronically-operated carburettor – with dedicated control unit – an optimised cylinder diagram and the characteristic inverted “Snakebite” exhaust now with double catalyser and double secondary air system.
Frame: maximum riding precision
The high tensile steel frame ensures optimum weight distribution, with more load over the front end than on an average scooter. The riding position is optimised for total control while comfort is provided by the contoured saddle. The helmet compartment, which can accommodate a full-face helmet, is supplemented by yet another compartment with a 1-litre capacity under the lug.
The standard equipment for the Aprilia SR 50 R includes a highly advanced active matrix instrument panel. Much more than just a regular instrument panel, it is a fully fledged terminal communicating with the engine control unit and providing the rider with an incredible quantity of information.

Design: a Motard soul on a sports scooter
The style reflects the character of Aprilia SR Motard and evolves towards brilliant and fun riding. The front features sports style handlebar, the light assembly built into the shield, and above all the pronounced “beak” over the front-wheel (a nod to the off-road world).
The new digital analogue dashboard incorporates, among its many functions, an analogue speedometer, LCD display with trip meter (total and partial), fuel gauge and clock. The series of indicators includes: fuel reserve, indicators, headlamps, and oil level.
The footboard, as well as making for sitting and riding comfort, improves load capacity, also thanksto the hook in the leg shield back plate. The big 14″ black four-spoke wheels feature a bold design inspired by the Aprilia sports world, offset by the gold front brake calliper. Streamlined and gutsy, the rear of SR Motard features a large, comfortable seat whose sides reflect the coloured graphics of the bodywork, a refinement that brings out the liveliness of a vehicle designed to turn every city trip into a fun experience. The large helmet compartment, which features a USB socket for charging smartphones or other mobile devices, can accommodate a full-face helmet and delimits the rear with the licence plate bracket and the redesigned passenger handles as well as the new retractable passenger footpegs.
Engineering: brilliant performance and ease of riding
The new air-cooled single-cyclinder engine is a modern, ecological and snappy unit, the best solution for a brilliant and fun daily riding experience in the metropolitan jungle. The scooter has been designed to meet Euro 4 standards, but without compromising the well-known rideability and useability under any conditions. The power line benefits from a new electronic fuel-efficient carburettor: the air-fuel mixture is dosed by a solenoid valve controlled by the engine control unit, which is also new, allowing a more efficient mapping.. Added to this is an optimised cylinder diagram and a new exhaust line, now equipped with a double catalyser and a double secondary air device.
The steel tube frame houses a robust telescopic hydraulic fork at the front while the rear has a double hydraulic monoshock coupled with a transmission unit that acts as a swingarm. The large 14″ wheel rims come with sports road covers. Brake safety is provided by the 220 mm front disc supported by the powerful and modulatable 140 mm rear drum.
